Nic is an RCVS recognised advanced practitioner in equine surgery in orthopaedics
She graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1996. After a brief period in mixed practice she moved to equine practice, and has worked in Cheshire since 2004.
She has worked at Wright and Morten since 2010, where she gained her Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in equine surgery and orthopaedics and passed the BEVA/ BVDA dentistry exam. In 2020 Nic passed the examinations for and was awarded the Advanced Veterinary Practice Certificate in Equine Dentistry. Her time is spent primarily in the clinic where her interests are orthopaedics and poor performance, dentistry/ head related problems and anaesthesia.
In the rest of her clinical time she provides routine healthcare and treatment for a herd of donkeys at the Derbyshire Centre, part of The Donkey Sanctuary.
Nic has been a speaker at several veterinary conferences, most recently in 2019 she was invited to speak at the British Equine Veterinary Association annual congress.
Nic is married to small animal orthopaedic surgeon Gareth. They have a Jack Russel terrier and 2 Hungarian Vizslas, which they enjoy walking. Nic also competes in affiliated dressage with her own horse.
