We are so pleased to announce our new clinic is now OPEN. The new facility is the result of a lot of hard work behind the scenes, but we’re so proud of it. We feel our facility is as modern as anything in the country and our patients and their owners will benefit from a design that allows a much better flow of horses and people through the building.
Our new location
If you are bringing your horse to our clinic at Somerford Park Farm, you’ll notice we are in a new location behind the Ash arena. There is excellent parking in the main yard. From there you can walk down the far side of the Ash arena and pop into our reception to let us know you have arrived.
We have a separate client waiting area where you can take a seat whilst we treat your horse. Once you’ve arrived, we can direct you to your horse's bright and airy Monarch stable. We have a number of day patient boxes on the outside of the building, whilst our hospitalized and overnight patients will come into the in-patient block.
The new facility offers a number of advantages:
·We have two large treatment rooms, with bespoke flooring and secure stocks in each room. This will allow our vets and nurses to work safely and attentively on multiple patients at the same time.
·We have a dedicated theatre, with two recovery boxes. This allows us to carry out our wide range of surgical procedures whilst the day-to-day work carries on in the clinic.
·We have a laboratory for processing regenerative medicine products from bone marrow and blood for orthopaedic cases, as well as running blood cell and worm egg counts.
·A comfortable waiting area for you while we treat your horse.
·A consulting room to allow us to talk through your horses’ medical issues with you in privacy and comfort.
What we can offer
We are dedicated to providing the highest standard of care for the horses, ponies and donkeys that pass through our door. Our new clinic will do this as well as anybody in the UK. We have a vastly experienced team of Equine vets and registered veterinary nurses, many of whom have further qualifications in particular specialisms such as equine lameness, dentistry and medicine.
We also believe that there are many investigations that cannot be performed on a
horse’s home yard with the same degree of safety, quality and attention to detail. A
thorough lameness investigation, for example, can involve a large investment in time
to observe the patient lunged, ridden and then with various nerve and joint
medications to assess their efficacy. X-rays and ultrasound scans can be performed on
yards with our new modern digital equipment, but on their own they don’t tell the
whole story. Horses visiting our facility will benefit from this high quality of care
that will ultimately result in a better outcome for the patient and a faster return to
work for the rider.
We appreciate most owners don’t want their horses to have a problem, but we are here
to provide a central role for routine care, performance optimisation and acute medical
needs, working alongside you and your horses care team. Our new clinic allows us to
do this in the best environment possible with the added benefit of outstanding
facilities within one of the country's premier equine establishments.
Keep up to date
We've posted video updates of the clinic’s progress on our Facebook page, “Wright
and Morten Equine Clinic” on a regular basis. Check here for the latest videos to see
our clinic in action. We’re going to be announcing our open evening very soon. We
look forwards to seeing you there.
